This Privacy Policy describes how Auxility, Inc. ("we", "us", or "our") handles information in connection with the Remote for Fire TV mobile application (the "App"). By downloading or using the App, you agree to the practices described below. The App is designed to operate primarily on your local network, and we minimize data collection.
1. Data We Collect
- Analytics events (Amplitude). Aggregated product-usage and diagnostic events — such as which screens and controls are used and crash signals. Event data does not include personally identifying information (no PII).
- Attribution data (AppsFlyer). Install attribution signals, including the install source and marketing campaign, used to understand how the App is discovered.
- Subscription state (Adapty). Purchase history and the product ID of any in-app purchase or subscription, used to validate entitlements. Payment card details are handled solely by Apple (iOS) or Google (Android) and are never received by us.
- Local network data. To control your Fire TV, the App finds your Fire TV on your local Wi-Fi network and communicates with it directly on that network. These local device addresses are used on your device only — they are never transmitted off-device and never stored on any server.
- Support communications. If you contact us, we receive the information you choose to provide, such as your email address and message contents.
2. How We Use Data
- To provide core functionality, including discovering and controlling your Fire TV devices.
- To operate, maintain, secure, and improve the App.
- To diagnose crashes and measure the performance of features.
- To process subscriptions and validate entitlements.
- To understand acquisition channels through aggregate attribution.
- To respond to support requests and comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell personal information, we do not use your data to build advertising profiles, and the App does not require an account to control your Fire TV devices.
3. Third-Party SDKs
The App integrates the following third-party software development kits. Each provider processes data under its own privacy policy:

4. Local Network Privacy
Your phone (on iOS and Android) asks for permission to access devices on your local network. This permission is required so the App can find your Fire TV. Discovery and control happen entirely on your device, directly between your phone and your Fire TV over your home Wi-Fi. The App does not route local network data to our servers and does not require an internet connection to control a Fire TV already on your network.
5. Data Retention
Analytics, attribution, and subscription data are retained according to each SDK provider's default retention settings, and only as long as needed for the purposes described above. Auxility, Inc. does not operate any server that stores your personal data. Support communications are retained only as needed to address your request and meet legal obligations.
6. Children's Privacy
The App is a general-audience utility and is not directed to children under 13. In line with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at privacy@auxility.ca and we will delete it.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To request deletion of your data, email privacy@auxility.ca. You can also limit analytics and attribution through your device settings and applicable App tracking permissions.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date above and, where appropriate, through in-App notice.
