FIRE TV REMOTE APP FOR IPHONE

The Fire TV Remote App Built for iPhone.

Remote for Fire TV turns your iPhone into a full Fire TV remote over Wi-Fi — a real D-Pad, on-screen keyboard for search, and voice, in a clean dark interface that feels at home on iOS.

Works over Wi-Fi · one-time code on the TV · free, no ads

Using an iPhone as a Fire TV remote should feel native, not like a clunky web page. Remote for Fire TV is built around the physical-remote layout: a large central OK inside a glowing D-Pad ring, dedicated Back, Home, and Menu, and a playback and volume row underneath. Where the iPhone beats the plastic remote is text entry — instead of nudging a grid one letter at a time, you type searches with the iPhone keyboard and speak with the voice button. Connection runs over your home Wi-Fi to a Fire TV Stick, 4K Max, or Fire TV Cube; the first time you connect, a four-digit code appears on the TV and you enter it once. One iOS-specific note: on first launch iOS shows a Local Network permission prompt — allow it so the app can discover your Fire TV (it is asked only once). Everything stays on your local network, with no account and no content tracking, so the app is fast and private on iOS.

How it works

Step by step

How to fix it: Fire TV Remote App for iPhone.

Each step takes seconds. No account needed — most take nothing more than your phone and the code shown on the TV.

  1. Get the app on your iPhone

Install Remote for Fire TV from the App Store and open it. The core remote is free to use.

  2. Match the Wi-Fi network

Make sure your iPhone is on the same Wi-Fi as your Fire TV. Both talk to each other over that local network.

  3. Pair once with the on-screen code

Pick your Fire TV in the app and type the four-digit code the TV displays. iOS remembers the device for next time.

  4. Type and speak, don't peck

Use the iPhone keyboard to fill in searches instantly, or tap the mic to search by voice — far faster than the Fire TV on-screen grid.

Common questions

Fire TV Remote App for iPhone — your questions answered.

Does the Fire TV remote app for iPhone need the same Wi-Fi as the TV?
Yes. The iPhone controls your Fire TV over your home Wi-Fi, so both the phone and the Fire TV must be on the same network. There is no cable and no Bluetooth pairing to the phone involved.
Can I type Netflix and Prime Video searches from my iPhone?
Yes. Typing is the main iPhone advantage: you use the normal iOS keyboard to enter search text, and it appears on the TV instantly instead of selecting letters one by one with the D-Pad.
Is the iPhone app free, and does it need an account?
The core remote is free and needs no account — control stays on your local network. A PRO subscription unlocks premium extras, but the everyday D-Pad, keyboard, and playback controls do not require it.
